Evelette has been very busy lately discovering her hands and the fact that she can hold things all by herself. It's been really fun to watch her, she gets SO excited when you put something in her hands. She is to the stage where no matter what I am eating or holding she HAS to be holding it too. She is silly, she has to mark her territory by slobbering on anything she can get her cute little hands on, and when I say slobber I mean SLOBBER! haha. I just love how curious she is about all her surroundings, watching my EVERY move!

I feel so thankful that I am able to be a stay at home mom so that I get to experience all these little things! Mother's day was such a great day. There is truely nothing better than being a mom and having a wonderful husband who appreciates all I do. I am very blessed to have my wonderful little family!

Mother's day :)

Evelette is one lucky little gal, she has the best dad!! He is so loving and takes her around the house with him everywhere. He loves to play with her and tickle her. He sure knows how to make her giggle!

Far too long..

As all of you know, I am TERRIBLE at updating my blog. My baby girl may just be my excuse haha.
Life has been amazing lately, nothing much to complain about! :) We have visited family in Utah quite a bit over the last few months and even went on a big camping/dirtbiking trip to Winnemucca with the Meinzer's and Wooden's. It was a LOT of fun, well until the massive hail and wind storm came that like demolished our tent and campsite. Everything was covered in sand and mud haha it was lovely! Thank goodness for my father-in-law's motorhome for a safe haven from the crazy storm! Luckily it was our last day there so it wasn't too bad to deal with. Evelette was SOO happy on that trip, loving being outside in the sunshine for pretty much the first time in her life, except walks, thanks to this unpredictable weather lately!
Don't you just love her cute sunhats?! Thanks to Grandma Blackwell her cute little head didn't get sunburnt :)

Mike had the time of his life riding hours on end at the sand dunes. There were a lot of fun ppl there to ride with him, my brother Brent Jr, Mike's dad Lynn, and brother's Jordan and Spencer, Cousin Terry Thompson who is always a crack up, and all of the wonderful Woodens!! Camping is always just that much more fun when you are surrounded with great people! :)

Mike and his brand new bike. What a cutie.
Brent's first big riding trip on his new bike!
I love this picture of Brent and Evey. Evey looks SO much like her uncle Brent!

MARCH!

Oh what a fun month it was, she started smiling and becoming more and more responsive to us. So fun to watch her cute little face expressions.
  • We haven't weighed her since her two month appointment but I know for sure she is getting big and finally packin on the pounds! She is still only eating 3 oz at each feeding but eating lots and lots more often, some days I feel like that is all I do!
  • When she gets excited she stiffens her legs and whole body, stretches her arms clear out to her sides and makes this adorable high pitched sound like she's trying to catch her breath. So funny to watch!
  • She absolutely hated being set down and laid down anywhere, she is always wanting to sit up against a pillow or something, doesn't matter where as long as she's sitting up. Evey is always grunting and straining her little head til someone moves her up haha so funny! It's crazy how fast they change when they are this little.
  • She ate her first pureed banana and LOVED it! But boy was it a mess!
  • My best friend Britny Burningham's little baby boy is exactly one month older than Evey. They finally got to meet in March and they were so cute together!
  •  I just love my little sweetie more and more every day! I love being her mommy and being able to watch her change and grow!

...

February Highlights
  • Evelette weighed 8 lbs 6 oz and was 20 inches tall.
  • She was still eating every 2-3 hours round the clock, talk about exhausting! And she would only eat 3 oz at each feeding, I could never get her to eat any more than that!
  • My favorite thing about her that started in February was her famous cross eyed face! Oh I love looking at pictures of it, it makes my day! She puckers her lips and just goes cross eyed for ever! She is so silly.

  •  Her blessing day was absolutely beautiful and perfect. We were so blessed with so many family members that drove all the way out to support us. Mike gave her the most spiritual and amazing blessing. Such a great day! And of course, Evelette looked so pretty in her blessing dress, which is the same dress my mom made for me! :)

  • We took her swimming for her first time  when she was only 2 1/2 months old, but she did so good. She just stared wide-eyed the whole time. Her tiny little body looked so adorable in her swimsuits, even though they were huge on her!

...

January Highlights
  • At her one month check up she weighed 5 lbs 5 oz and was still 18 1/2 inches long.
  • At one month old, you had your first little photo shoot and the pictures turned out SO dang cute!So hard to only pick a few!

  • Evey had lots of visitors that month, both sides of the family were very eager to see her!
  • We went on our first little road trip with her, Mike had to go to Denver for a class for his work. We love those little trips filled with relaxing dinners paid for and chillin in the hotel. :) Evey did pretty good on her first little adventure with mommy and daddy!

  •  Her most favorite thing of the month was cuddling on daddy's belly zipped up in his hoodies. SO cute!

A bunch of updating for little Evey

    December Highlights:
    • Evelette weighed 5 lbs 2 oz and was 18 1/2 inches long at her 4 day check up.
    • She was a really light eater and she would hardly even wake up when I tried to feed her, until about 4 weeks old. Starting at about a month old she would wake up round the clock to eat every 2 hours.
    • She was very famous for her LOUD grunts and high pitched squeaks while she slept. She also slept all day and night with her hands in fists and held straight out into the air, so funny!

    • Ever since she was a week old, she have always straightened and stiffened her legs, being able to hold most of her body weight, very strong little girl! But of course I already knew this, being able to feel your kicks and punches while in my tummy.
    • She was very spoiled for quite some time sleeping in bed with mommy and daddy.
    • She has always hated being put on her stomach, still does to this day!
    • Evey rolled over at about 2 1/2 months old.
    • By the end of her December she was able to focus her eyes on anything and follow things around the room, so fun to watch her face expressions while taking everything in.
    • We had a wonderful first Christmas with our cute little family here at home in Rangely.

    Serious Updating Time...!!

My perfect little daughter, Evelette Diane Meinzer, was born on Saturday December 4, 2010 at 12:31pm. She was a tiny 5 lbs 7 oz and 18 inches long. She was the most beautiful and aware little newborn baby I have ever seen. Thinking back on the first moment I finally saw her gets me very emotional. Michael and I are SO blessed with this perfectly healthy baby girl. Every day that I am blessed to be her mother, I just fall more and more in love with her! I am pretty sure she thinks to herself, "enough with the kisses and pictures already!!" haha But I just hope she knows this is only the beginning!!

    Evelette only minutes old

1 Day old. Still can't believe how beautiful she is!

Proud mommy about 2 hours after birth

    Very, VERY proud daddy.
December 2 was my 35 week checkup. I had been experiencing blurry vision, horrible and painful migraines, shortness of breath, among many other things a few weeks before. At my checkup my blood pressure was sky rocket high, which is extremely abnormal for me, and a bunch of other symptoms. My doctor told me I had a mild case of Preclampsia and that its very possible I could be induced the next day. In panic, he sent me over to the OB Unit of the hospital to monitor the baby and have me "checked". Not surprisingly, I was not effaced or dilated at all. Little baby in my belly was doing great as far as they could tell. They monitered me for about 5 hours and decided I was ok to go home, that nothing was progressing but that I needed to come back in the next morning. I went home, told my husband that my doctor said I might be induced the next day but I thought it very unlikely. So Mike took work off just incase, even though I told him it might be a waste of time. Good thing he came because after being monitered again for 4 hours and my blood pressure being really high still, Dr. Griffith said the risks were WAY higher for the baby to stay inside of me versus waiting til she was full term, because of my Preclampsia. We were freaking out, pretty much in shock when I was wheeled into my labor and delivery room at 35 and 1/2 weeks pregnant. I was induced at 3pm that friday and was in labor for 13 hours before I got my epidural and was dilated to a 3. Once I got my epidural I was able to relax and very quickly continued to dilate. I was hating that I even waited that long, knowing that it would've gone that fast, but according to my nurse, I couldn't get my epidural til I was dilated to a 5...which I later found out that is not true, grrrr!! Evelette was born 25 hours later after a very LONG and PAINFUL labor process! But it was all worth it when she came out breathing on her own and healthy as can be! I was definitely being watched over and so blessed. We are so thankful for our little addition to the family! Love you sweetie!
Evey weighed just 5 lbs when we left the hospital, not even preemie clothes fit her yet!
